Banbury/Don Mills is a vibrant and desirable community that prioritizes good living. Driving through the lush streets and wandering through one of the neighbourhood’s many parks, it would be easy to think that there’s not much going on here, but a short drive will bring you to the bustle of modern amenities that the area is known for.

Banbury/Don Mills was farmland until the 1950s, cut off geographically from the rest of Toronto. It was then developed into a model community that was designed for people instead of industry. Because of that design, the neighbourhood transitions from peaceful residential areas with an abundance of stunning greenspace to bustling commercial spaces with shopping and dining at their fingertips. 

Modern condos, townhouses, and single-family homes make up the majority of residences here. The layout of the community was planned to optimize the natural views for many homes.

But don’t mistake quiet for sleepy here, because the neighbourhood is flush with modern amenities and luxury shopping. Plus, it’s close enough to the rest of Toronto that it’s an easy drive to work or any of the large cultural offerings within the city.

 

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Banbury/Don Mills is a treasure trove of shopping and dining. It is centrally located to multiple incredible shopping centres that all boast luxury shopping and entertainment alongside delectable dining. The Keg Steakhouse is one such restaurant where guests can take part in Lobster Summer or order one of their many mouth-watering steak options.

On the north end of the neighbourhood, Fairview Mall features indoor shopping, movie theatres, and a gym. Nearby is Bayview Village Shopping Centre . Full of luxury brands and gourmet food offerings, this is one of Canada’s most prestigious shopping centres. 

The Shops at Don Mills is a modern shopping centre with brands such as L.L.Bean , Roots , and Anthropologie . After a day of shopping, stop by The Good Son for wood-fired pizza made with seasonal, organic ingredients. The Shops is also home to Cineplex VIP Don Mills, where guests at any of the theatre’s VIP showings can order food and drinks to be delivered to their seats during the film. 

 

Things to Do

Banbury/Don Mills was designed to be a neighbourhood intimately acquainted with nature. Residents can leave their homes and, in minutes, see some of the lushest greenery or walk some of the most beautiful trails in the area.

The crowning jewel of Don Mills is the Toronto Botanical Garden . It has 17 unique gardens, many educational programs, and a cafe set amongst the lush greenery. Adjacent to the Botanical Garden, you’ll find Edward Gardens . This beautiful garden used to belong to an estate but now welcomes the public to wander its paths and visit the children’s Teaching Garden .

The neighbourhood has so much to offer by way of public parks, especially when it comes to nature trails. Some of the best are the trails of Winfields Park, the horse stables and biking trails of Serena Gundy Park, and the hiking and snowshoeing trail at Wilket Creek Park. Sunnybrook Park has a cricket pitch, a pond, and an off-leash area for neighbourhood dogs. If you’re still craving more, Donalda Golf and Country offers a championship golf course, curling ice, a pool, and a fitness centre to residents.
